Many Sun servers, namely the Netra T1 range don't have keyboard, mouse or monitor connectors on them, so initial configuration and setup has to be done via a serial connection to a computer running a RS232 terminal session. These instructions aim to simplify this process.

Once you have a working cable, you should set your terminal software to 9600 baud, 8N1.
